Tested DIY at Home

About Craftlyra

If you save more diy ideas than you ever get around to trying, Craftlyra is for you: fewer, better ideas, with the how-to spelled out.

Hi, I'm Ella Maren

Hi, I’m Ella Maren. I started Craftlyra because I kept saving DIY pins and still ending up stuck halfway through the project. My goal is simple: share what worked at home, what didn’t, and how I solved it when the materials or measurements were a little different than expected. You’ll find room-focused builds, mood-changing decor crafts, and practical upcycling ideas for everyday items. I write for renters, busy households, and anyone who wants results that look intentional, not rushed.

How Craftlyra started

Craftlyra started as a folder of half-finished ideas on my laptop. I kept making little fixes around my apartment, then searching for instructions when I got stuck. One rainy weekend, I wrote down every step I tried, including the mistakes, and sent it to a friend who was planning a craft night.

That turned into a habit. I realized I felt calmer when I had a clear plan, and I wanted other people to have that same relief. So I began posting my versions of the projects I was already building, with the parts that usually get left out.

What you'll find here

On Craftlyra you’ll find DIY how-tos, materials lists, and the practical notes I wish I’d had when I started. I write from the perspective of someone who tries a project, runs into the snag, and adjusts the plan based on what actually happened in my home. I focus on repeatable methods, clear steps, and honest troubleshooting, because I’m the one who has to test it again the next time someone asks, “Did this really work?”

Why you can trust Craftlyra

One editor, no content mill: I (Ella Maren) plan, write and check every guide myself. An idea makes the cut when I would actually try it, and older posts get reworked rather than left to rot.
